The mission of Small Business Legal Services PLLC (SBLS) is to support the owners of small businesses so they can concentrate on running their companies and building profitability.
Attorney Michelle Bomberger founded Small Business Legal Services because she had a profound belief that business lawyers can better serve their clients if they understand business operations. She also knew that small businesses have very different needs than medium or large companies, and she was driven to provide effective, approachable and affordable legal services that focus on those unique needs.
We are committed to providing you with the highest quality professional legal services. You will always receive personalized, prompt attention to your legal needs and regular updates on progress.
At SBLS, we understand that it's critical that you get a rapid response to your needs. Your calls and e-mail messages are returned within 24-hours, and we strive to quickly provide the answers and advice that you need.
Many small businesses don't have a lot of cash readily available to spend on attorney fees. At SBLS, we evaluate your needs and make recommendations on what you should do immediately, what you should do in the next six months to a year and what you can do farther down the road. You will always receive a cost estimate in advance, and you will always know what work we are doing on your behalf — and why.
Michelle Hayden Bomberger is an experienced businesswoman turned lawyer. Her passion for working with small businesses and entrepreneurs led her to found Small Business Legal Services, a law firm offering services focused on the unique issues small businesses face throughout their lifecycles.
Michelle has extensive experience in working with companies from Fortune 500 to one-person home-based businesses. She is also an entrepreneur. She not only runs her own law firm but also is the co-owner of a successful Bellevue, Washington restaurant and wine bar. This unique combination of legal and business skills brings valuable insight into Michelle's work with entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Michelle’s career in working with small businesses and entrepreneurs began while she attended graduate school at Northwestern University in Chicago. She earned a Doctor of Law degree (JD) from the School of Law and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. By pursing a dual degree, Michelle prepared to blend business and legal training to become a full-service resource for small businesses.
While in graduate school, Michelle was a founding member of the Small Business Opportunity Center at Northwestern University School of Law and served as president of the organization. Through the center, she provided both legal and business advice to nonprofit and for-profit small businesses.
Before launching SBLS, Michelle gained extensive experience in business operations and technology as a consultant with Ernst & Young LLP, and as senior manager of auditing services at Cingular Wireless. She gained knowledge that allows her to understand the practical and results-oriented demands faced by businesses beyond their legal needs.
Prior to pursuing her graduate education, Michelle received an undergraduate degree in Finance and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame. She is an active member of the King County Bar Association and Washington State Bar Association, where she serves as the Chairperson of the Law Office Management Assistance Program. She offers pro-bono legal services to local non-profits through Washington Attorneys Assisting Community Organizations.
Michelle is also a popular speaker on topics important to launching and running a business. She has presented for various SBA programs including the annual BizFair and has taught a series of business and law related courses through Renton Technical College.
